Summer 2013 "Smash book" journal

Happy Friday!!

Today I have a fun "smash book" style journal I wanted to share with you!! My Aunt Ginger over at My Sister's Scrapper created this a couple days ago (you can find it HERE) and I jusr had to make myself one!!  We document our summer adventures every year and I thought this little journal would be perfect!! Something this kids can grab and jot down their thoughts too.

I used the amazing Echo Park "Happy Camper" paper line to create my journal!! I had to have this paper when I saw it for the first time!! We are a BIGTIME outdoors family so this line was perfect!!!

Yes, that is indeed a real jean pocket!! I cut it out from an old pair...thought it would the perfect pocket to hold all our pens and pencils so we always had one handy!!

Hello all!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! I know I did!! I'm SUPER EXCITED to share with you all that I made the design team over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge!! I am so overjoyed and am so honored to be apart of this team!!! :)

Okay, so this weeks challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge was to create a project using a frame.  Heres the card I came up with!! I was in need of a bridal shower card so I thought using the Forever Young cartridge was perfect. The silhouette and the frame in the background were both cut using this cartridge!! I even got my sewing machine out and sewed around the background edge!!

"Welcome"

Good Afternoon!!!
WOWie....having a blast over here at the Hobby Hideaway for a scrapbooking retreat!!

Okay, so the challenge over at CardzTV this week is to make a project with something that you'd put in a jar.  Unfortunately I didn't have the fabulous new stamp Mary created so I cut out a jar using the Everyday Cards Cartridge and filled it with flowers!! It's a little hard to see in the photo but my leaves are actually glued to a real twig...to give it that "extra touch"!! I did use the new "Oh Baby" stamp set Mary created!!

So, this afternoon I have a fun birthday card to share with you!! I created this for the challenge over at Paper Playtime...."anything goes".

I used the Storybook Cartridge (my all time favorite) to cut out my shape. Beautiful Prima flowers and a handmade stick pin. I stamped my sentiment using a Fiskars stamp set.

...Just Because

Hello fellow crafters!! Today I have a card to share with you. For those of you who know me, know that I can't scrap flat!! Ever!! It's probably one of the hardest things for me, and it goes with my cards too!! I usually always have to add an extra stamp to even mail my cards!!
So anyways, I came across this blog called Cas-ual Fridays the other day that challenges....**drum roll**....clean and simple!!! Eek!!! Totally not me, right!! Well I'm always up for a good challenge and with this being super hard I just had to play along!! And let me tell you...it in fact was HARD!! I love to pump up those embellishments, bring out the foam tape and go to town!! I probably sat at my table for over an hour just figuring out how to do this "clean and simple"!! Haha

So after much thought this is what I came up with!! Yes...I did kinda cheat and grabbed my foam tape for some dimension (I'm telling you...chunky scrapping is an obsession)!! So their challenge for this week was to use banners!!

Here is what I came up with:

I cut out the scalloped frame using the Cricut Essentials cartridge!! I've never used that cartridge before...it's got some really cute cuts on it!!
