Last Chance!

One of my fellow Paper Primper's Melissais having a RAK (post by 3/1)and the challenge was to "Shape Up Your Journaling"...so here's my take on it! I can't show the entire photo because I submitted it for publication! Cross my fingers! I journaled along the scalloped edge! It was really fun to do something different!

I Made It!!!

Oh my gosh...I am so excited! I made the Scrapper's Attic Design Team!! I have been patiently waiting to here who was chosen...and the other day I received my "Congratulations" e-mail from them!!!! I am so darn excited I can barely contain myself!!!
So, today I got my first assignment...look at what I get to play with! Yummy!!! The new Zach's Life Collection by Little Yellow Bicycle! I'm loving this line! Some of the sticker phrases match perfectly with my boys, like "Don't try this at home"! I swear those kids are always doing something!!
Anyways, make sure you check out the Scrapper's Attic website soon to see what I've created with this fabulous line!!

Altered Coasters and a Card

I was going through my cupboards the other day and came across this coaster set! It was just collecting dust up there...I could instantly feel my "creative" juices flowing! So, here's what I came up with! I plan on putting my boys' pictures over the cork (on the actually coaster) and covering it with transparecy...just haven't gotten that far yet!
Last night I created a really great layout(well, I'm really happy with it) for a call...so sorry I can't post it yet, but I did make this card with the left over scraps! TFL!
Blogger Challenge for 2Peas:
"Are you the type of scrapper/card maker that buys things to use on items your creating now. Or do you buy with the future project you could be creating?"
***I usually buy things to use right away...but once I get to the store I start to grab things that are on sale, really cute, or are the last one...then start to justify it by "creating" new projects! Shhhhh.....

Happy Friday!!!!!

It's finally here! Friday!!! This week has been very exhausting! Can't really remember what was going on though...oh well! It's Friday! My husband and I are going to get back to work on my scraproom! Hopefully we can start mudding and taping tomorrow! It was supposed to get done a couple nights ago, but one thing after another...blah blah!
I stopped at J's today...they had there photo boxes 40% off, so I picked up a few. I have been actively "organizing" all my supplies, getting it ready for my room! Got some really great pink storage baskets at the dollar store too! I was really suprised how thick and sturdy they were!
Anyways, here are my creations for the day! Made these last night! Not really sure about the scalloped card. It was my first doing anything like that!

Almost Done....

I am so excited! My husband has been working on my scrapbook room everyday for the past week! All weekend and every night when he gets off work! What a total sweetie! The poor thing has been so board this looooong winter with nothing to do! Fishing season isn't quite here and neither is the hunting season...so when he offered to make this room for me, I honestly didn't think it would be done anytime soon! Wrong! He has been itching to start a "project"...and once he starts, it's really hard for him to stop! Around 9:00pm I have to go downstairs and make him quit for the night! "But I'm on a roll!" is his excuse! So, with that said...it's almost done! Just have a couple more pieces of sheetrock to hang and then we can start taping and mudding!
Well...for the past couple days I have been second guessing the colors I chose for my room! At first I was going to go with a really light purple/periwinkle and accent with a light blue and soft green. But after a thinking about it...it sounds way too baby-ish! It's not a nursery...it's a creative space and, I finally have a room that I get to chose EVERYTHING!! I love hot pink! It's my favorite color! It's even better when it's matched with black! Love them!!! So, here's my new idea: I'm going to keep the walls white because I don't have a lot of natural light for my room. I want to keep it as bright as possible. Then I'm going to paint a HOT PINK hawaiian flower on one of the walls! It's going to be HUGE...about 3ft and outlined in black! This morning I raced to my LSS and bought this transperancy by Creative Imaginations! I have been eye-balling this trans for a really long time! And now I know why! It's going to be on my wall!!!! Awwww....I'm getting excited just thinking about it! Shelving and desk will be white. Storage baskets will be pink and black. Curtains black and white polka dots! I love it!!!!

Like I Said Before....

I love getting to make cards again! This past week I have been dedicating the boys' naptime all to myself! Instead of doing laundry, or dishes, or whatever...I have been taking "me" time! It's been so refreshing to actually focus on myself for a couple hours! I feel human again!! I made these cards during "me" time! I have someone very special in mind for the birthday card! Can't wait to give it to her! TFL!!

Got My Second Wind!

After creating the card from CPS sketch #52...I think I got my second wind for card making! I haven't made a nice card in a really long time! I used to get cards done months in advance! I didn't even do Christmas cards this year!
Anyways, after looking through the CPS site I was extremely inspired!! I put the boys down for their nap and got to work immediately! I'm pretty proud of what I came up with!! I can't wait to see what the following week's sketch brings! I'm loving this!

Friday Night Crop

It's been soooo long since I've attended a crop! Something always comes up, or I'm just way too tired! Not last Friday!! I sat all by myself (I know...that's kind of sad, but I had lots of things I wanted to get done!) and start some really great progress on my scrap "To Do List"! Here are just a couple layouts I finished. I did more, but they just need last minute touches! Hopefully I can get to them later today! Anyways, I barely made it! I was so exhausted by 10:15pm I packed up and called it a night! I couldn't believe it! I was so excited to go and I dudded out early! Oh well...guess there's always next time!!!

CPS #52 Sketch card

I found this fabulous blog from another Pea! I love it! The cards are so beautiful and the sketches are awesome! I love making cards for people! They are so much more personal, but lately I have been finding myself fading away from lack of inspiration! Then I came along this site! WOW!!! So, here's my first card for the #52 Sketch!

K & Co Mini Album

I made this album for myself to document my journey through a devotional that I'm working on! I've been going through some interesting things the past couple weeks, and my mother suggest I read this book, "The Prayer of Jabez" by Bruce Wilkinson. I took her up on that and read it last week. It was a very inspirational book and I plan on rereading it again in the next couple days. Anyways, along with the book I have started a daily devotional. It has been a powerful experience and I'm only on the second day! In between a couple of the mini album pages I plan on putting an envelope that I can put all my writings. As you can see I still need to add a couple O-rings and some ribbon to complete that album, but I couldn't wait to share it!

Fabulous find @ M's

Look at these awesome jars I found! I went to Michael's specifically to buy the MM jars...but then I saw these!!!! And best of all...they were $1 each! Can you believe that! I was so excited! I bought five of them to store ribbon and flowers in! Maybe I'll even go back for more! Mmmmm....

Stage #1

Yesterday, out of the blue, my hubbie offered to finish a room in the basement for my scrapbook room! I didn't know what to say...I was completely speechless! I have been waiting for a year and a half to have my own room! I was so excited!!!! I have been scrapping on the kitchen table or on the living room floor! I'm really excited to have my own space! So yesterday afternoon we got it all cleaned out and took lots of measurement. Right now it's just an ugly shell, but to me it is paradise...at least it will be! Today I was going through my closet and found lots of stamp sets I haven't touched in years. I totally forgotten I even had them! So out of curiousity I posted them on Craigslist. I honestly didn't expect anything would happen...but 5 minutes later I recieved a phone call. The lady (she was so sweet) came over and bought all of them! I coudn't believe how fast I was able to sell them! So after that I went to my stash of "things I'm holding on to to sell at my LSS's garage sale" and started posting those also! It's been about three hours and I'm almost positive I have everything sold...they are just pending upon pick-up! So, if that's the case, my scraproom will be able to half of the supplies we need! Whoo Hoo! I'm so darn excited! I thought it would be fun to post all the stages while it's being built! So...here's to Stage #1

New Magazine

I'm not the one to go out and buy a magazine. I usually get all my inspiration from Two Peas or other sites. I saw the the Creating Keepsake's special issue "The Scrapbook's Ultimate Products Guide" and insisted I need to have it! I have been slowly (and I mean very slowly) getting things together for my new scrap room and this issue was so handy on printers, desks, storage, etc! You name it, they had it! It was very helpful getting to see what certain products had and what they lacked. Even better, I used a coupon and get it cheaper. Now who can beat that?

Our Newest Addition

Last month we adopted a new friend from our local animal shelter! She has been a wonderful addition to our family! She fits right it! We weren't going to rule out any dog unless it was good with children. After a couple weeks of looking we came across Mona. She wasn't very appealing in the shelter. I stood back and watched the way she reacted with all the people. No one gave her a chance! She was so sad, everyone just passed her by! There was just something about her, so I took her for a walk! She was a total different dog! It was night and day! My hubbie came home for lunch and went to the shelter to take her for another walk...and at that instance I knew she was the one for us! Not only do I have a great companion for my family, but I have someone else to scrap!

Getting Started!

Well, here's to my first post! Hooray!
So lets get started! I have been actively trying to get my projects published and thought this would help out a little. Who knows? Maybe just getting to see my work online is good enough! I love to scrapbook! Like my "About Me" section says...it's right next to spending time with my family! It is my favorite thing to do when I am trying to relax, or just have some "me time"! I made this little album a couple months ago to inspire me when I am feeling down! The quotes in the book are very powerful! Here's one of my favorites: "Don't let anyone steal your dreams, follow your heart no matter what" -Jack Canfield
